Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam in Tirumala Temple Importance and Duration
Thirumanjanam Seva Timings: 6.00 am to 9.00 am
Seva Day: Immediate Tuesday before the festival date.
This event is performed in Ekantham by the TTD staff. Darshan will be stopped during this time.
Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam
It is performed four times a year which will be held for Ugadi, Anivara Asthanam, Annual Brahmotsavam and Vaikunta Ekadasi.
The temple, sub-temples inside Tirumala temple, puja utensils, roofs, walls, ceilings will be cleansed with an aromatic mixture called Parimalam which will be sprayed all over. This amalgamation acts as a disinfectant and this fete will be observed between 6 am and 9.00 am.
While the cleansing process is on, the Mula Murthi will be covered with a white veil. After the cleaning process of the temple is completed, the veil is removed and remaining rituals and pujas will be carried out to the presiding deity by the Archakas.
Temple cleaning usually takes 3 to 4 hours. Temple cleaning will be performed on Tuesday. After temple cleaning, Darshan services will be restored. The devotees will be allowed for the darshan of Sri Venkateswara Swamy after the special pujas on that day.
This activity will be performed by the TTD staff and is not available for the General public. So there won’t be any ticket booking for this Seva.
Impact on Darshan
- VIP Break Darshan will be stopped
- Sarva Darshan, Divya Darshan (not available now), Rs.300 Darshan will resume after Thirumanjanam Seva
- Arjitha Sevas (not available for physical presence) in the morning session will be cancelled.
- Arjitha Sevas such as Kalyanotsavam, Visesha Pooja, Unjal Seva might be cancelled on this special occasion.
- Sarva Darshan and Rs.300 tokens darshan might start from 11.00 am
- Senior Citizen Darshan (not available now) might be cancelled in the morning hours.
