Kadlekalu Ganesh
This monolithic Ganesh Statue is 4.6 mt (15 ft tall) of tall. This Temple is located on the slope of Hemakuta Hill. Near to Kadalekalu (Bengal Gram seed), Ganesha is Sasivekalu Ganesha is located. The belly of the Ganesha resembles an unsplit Bengal gram hence the name Kadalekalu. The belly was partially destroyed by Muslim rulers after the fall of Vijayanagara Kingdom. Pooja is not performed at this temple as Idol was broken. This temple was built in the 15th century.
The temple of Kadalekalu Ganesha Idol was carved out of a Single large boulder. The pillars of the temple were carved with mythological characters from the Epics. The pillars construction reflects the Vijayanagara style of architecture.
