Ooty Lake is a man made lake which is of 40 ft in depth. Row, Pedal and Motor boats are allowed for boating. There is a barrier between Motor Boating and Row/ Pedal boating. Motor Boating will be on other side. It is advisable to go with Pedal boating for the couples.

Best Time to visit Ooty: Mar to May (Peak Season) and Oct to Feb (Normal Season). It is not advisable to visit Ooty during rainy season.

It is advisable to carry cash as Gpay/ Phonepe might not be accepted. Staff at the counter insist on Cash payment.

Refundable Caution Deposit

• Tourists are requested to collect their Pedal and Row Boat deposit amount immediately after boating with the original receipt.
• If the time excees less than 15 mins then 50% of the deposit amount and more than 15 mins then 100% of  deposit amount will be collected.
• Caution deposit refund counter is located right opposite to Row Boating entrance.

Instructions to the Tourists

1. Boating hire charges are not refundable or transferable.
2. Allotted boats are at Hire’s own risk.
3. Capacity of the boat includes the rower/ helper.
4. Consume of Liquor and smoking is not allowed.
5. Drunken people will not be allowed for boat ride.
6. Children below 5 years are exempted from the boat hire charges (2 children only) in motor ride.
7. Any damager to boat occurs and Oar locakc etc is chargeable.
8. Hire charges are collected on 30 mins basis for row and pedal boat and 20 mins basis for Motor boats.
9. If the boats do not return on booking time, hire charges will be collected for every 15, 30 mins basis.
10. Film shooting and video coverage will be permitted only on payment as per rules.
11. Tourists are requested to wear Life Jackages while boating. Life Jackets of differen sizes are available at boating points.
12. Tourists are requested not to stand and take selfie while riding.
13. Tourists with infants are advised not to opt for boat ride.
