What is Vidyarambham?

Vidyarambham, also called Ezhuthiniruthu or Aksharabhyasam, is a ceremony for children where they are introduced to education and learning. This is performed on the child between the ages of 2 and 6. Vidya means knowledge, and Arambham means learning. Regardless of caste or religion, the devotees will perform this event. It is believed that performing Vidyarambham here at this temple will bless the kids with good education and knowledge.
