<p>Badami caves Timings, Paintings, History, Route Info</p>



<p>There are four Caves which dates back to Eastern Chalukyas.</p>



<p>Cave 1, dedicated to Lord Siva and is of medium size, Circa 550 AD. One can find the carvings of Mahisasura Mardhini, Karthikeya and Ganesh. This cave is of L-shape</p>



<p>Cave 2, dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is smallest of all.</p>



<p>Cave 3, dedicated to Lord Siva and is the biggest among all.&nbsp;From the inscriptions, it is known that the Carvings refers to 578 AD&nbsp; during the reign of King Mangalesa.</p>



<p>Cave 4, Dedicated to Jains. Carvings for Mahaveer</p>
