<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Thingalur Chandran Temple</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">As per the legend. Chandran had 27 wives, who are daughters of Daksha Prajapathi, among all his wives, Rohini was his favourite. Chandran used to spend most of his time Rohini, ignoring other wives. Knowing this from his Daughters, Daksha cursed Chandran that he would gradually fade away. Chandran did penance for Lord Siva here, to get relieved from Daksha&#8217;s curse. To save Chandran the curse, Siva decorated him on his head as the crescent moon. As Daksha&#8217;s curse can&#8217;t be ignored, Chandran will Wane for the first 15 days, and Waning for the next 15 days.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Temple is easily reachable from Kumbakonam Railway and Bus stations.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Temple is dedicated to Lord Siva. The presiding deity is called by Somanatheeswarar. Temple is 10 km from kundrathur and is the ancient shrine which was built by Kulothunga Chola. This is one of the Navagraha Sthalam in Chennai which is dedicated to Chandran. The uniqueness of this temple that Nandi will not face the deity Siva inside the temple. It is believed that Chandran did penance here for Lord Siva.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Vaitheeswaran Koil Sirkali</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Angarakan (Chevvai), son of Lord Siva, who born from the drop of Lord Siva&#8217;s. &nbsp;Once, When Lord Siva was in deep meditation, a drop of sweat from the Siva&#8217;s forehead fell on the Earth. A male child was born out of this drop. It is said that Lord Siva cured Angarakan skin disease, following which he joined Navagraha Club.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">One should take a&nbsp;holy dip at Temple Tank &#8216;Siddsmrita&#8217; before entering the&nbsp;temple, which is believed to possess healing properties for skin diseases.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Vaitheeswaran Koil Poonamalle</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Temple is dedicated to Lord Siva. There is a footprint of Angakaran at the entrance of the temple. This is the Angaraka Sthalam located km away from Poonamalle Bus station. Adi Sankaracharya had installed 3 Chakras inside the shrine, which are, Sri Chakra, Shanmuga Chakra and Subramanya Chakra.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Temple is dedicated to Lord Siva. K<span class="highlightNode">ovur temple</span> near Porur where the great Saint Thyagaraja stayed and composed three famous songs for Lord shiva. This temple is popular as Budhan Sthalam.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">As per the Legends, Goddess Kamakshi performed a strict penance to marry Lord Siva by standing on Panchagni in Maangaadu. This Panchagni generated enormous heat and affecting living beings on Earth. Sages and Devas approached Lord Vishnu for the rescue, who in turn requested Goddess Lakshmi to save the people on the Earth. On His request, Lakshmi did penance here for Lord Siva in the form of a cow. Impressed with Lakshmi&#8217;s prayers, Lord Shiva absorbed the heat and it became cooler. From then this place called by &#8220;Kopuri&#8221; and later into Kovur.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Chitra Gupta Temple Kanchipuram</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><span class="highlightNode">Chitra Gupta is </span>the younger brother of Yama, the God of Death. Chitra Gupta used to track good and bad of all living beings. Worshipping Chitra Gupta will extend the lifetime on the Earth. This temple is one of the Budhan Sthalam and is located in Kanchipuram. The full moon day of Chaitra which falls in the months of March-April is the auspicious time to worship Chitra Gupta.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Vasishteswara Swamy temple in the village &#8220;Thittai&#8221; near Thanjavur is an ancient temple. &nbsp;The presiding deity is popular by Vasishteswarar as Saint Vasishta worshipped the deity here for years. The uniqueness of this temple is that there is a separate shrine for &#8220;Guru Bhagavan&#8221; which is located between Vasishteswarar and Loganayaki Sannidhis. This temple is dedicated to Lord Siva. It is said that the Lord Vishnu created the Temple tank with his &#8220;Chakra&#8221;, hence the name &#8220;Chakra Theertham&#8221;</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Jalanatheswarar Temple Thakkolam</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Temple is dedicated to Lord Siva. The presiding deity is called by Jalanatheswarar who resides here with his consort Giriraja Kannigambal. It is said that Lord Vishnu and Brahma did penance here for Lord Siva. The uniqueness of the temple is that the colour of the Linga changes during both the Dakshinayana and Uttarayana. Linga Colour will be in White during Dakshinayana and it will be in red colour during Uttarayana.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Kanjanur Sukran Temple</strong></h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Temple is dedicated to Lord Siva. The presiding deity Agniswarar residing here with his consort&nbsp;Karpagambal<span class="highlightNode">. It is one of the Navagraha Sthalam and is</span>&nbsp;dedicated to Sukran (Venus). As per the legends, Agni (God for fire) did penance here for the Lord Siva. Temple is 18 km from Kumbakonam and is easily reachable from Kumbakonam Railway station and bus station. Worshipping Sukuran on Friday is preferable.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Temple is dedicated to Lord Siva. The presiding deity Velleeswarar resides here with His Consort Goddess Kamakshi. The <span class="highlightNode">Velleeswarar</span> Temple is located in <span class="highlightNode">Mangadu</span>, in Chennai suburb. The temple is around 1.5 km from the <span class="highlightNode">Mangadu</span> bus station. Temple. While going towards Poonamallee from Porur, <span class="highlightNode">Mangadu</span> can be reached by taking the left turn at Kumananchavadi (before Poonamallee) and going around 3-4 km towards Kundrathur.  Sukran did penance here for Lord Siva.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Velleeswarar Mylapore Temple</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">As per the Legend, Vamana an incarnation of Lord Vishnu poked the eyes of Sukracharya with Darba grass, the guru of Asuras while King Mahabali gifting land. Sukracharya prayed Lord Shiva in Thirumayiali, who then restored his sight.  Temple is dedicated to Lord Siva. The presiding deity called by Velleeswarar.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Thirunaraiyur Temple</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Thirunaraiyur Saneeswaran Temple is dedicated to Lord Siva. The main deity Lord Siva is called by Ramanatha Swamy and Goddess is called by Parvatha Vardhini. Sani Bhagawan resides here with His Consorts, Manda Devi, and Neeladevi and His Sons, Manda, and Kuligan. Worshipping Saneeswarar will reduce the malefic effects of Saturn. This temple is known as Mangala Saneeswarar temple which means Sani resides here with his family. Temple is close to Trichy and is easily reachable from Trichy bus station and railway station.</p>



<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Thirunallar Temple</h4>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Thirunallar Temple is dedicated to Lord Siva. Lord Siva is known as Darbaranyeswarar here and Goddess Parvathi as Bhogamartha Poonmulai Amman.  One will be relieved from Shani Dasa completely or to some extent by having a bath at Brahma Theertham and Praying for Lord Siva here in wet clothes.  This place was originally called by Darbaranya, as this region was fully covered with Darba grass. Shani Peyarchi festival will be celebrated in a grand as thousands of devotees visit this temple to offer prayers to the deity.</p>

<h4 class="r wp-block-heading">Kuchanur Suyambu Sri Saneeswara Bhagavan</h4>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It is said that Sani Bhagavan did penance here for Lord Siva and got relieved from Brahmmahathi dosha. Kuchanur is 30 km from Theni, and 100 Km from Madurai. Kuchanur Sani Bhagavan temple is known For Shani doshas, Sade Sathi and Elre Sani. Sani Bhagavan self-manifested here. Devotees take a holy dip in the Surabi river before offering prayers to Saneeswara. Poojas are performed in the morning hours, during noon and in the evening timings.</p>



<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Thiru Kollikaadu Pongu Saneeswaran</h4>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Saneeswaran was disappointed for being held responsible for all the woes of human beings. He did penance here for Agneeswarar, Lord Siva at Thirukollikaadu after bathing in the Agni theertham. Lord Siva appeared before him and appreciated Saneeswaran in executing his task as per Karma. He further pleased Saneeswaran by asking him to reside in the temple as Pongu Sani, showeri<span class="text_exposed_show">ng his blessings on devotees. This temple remains open for the whole day on Saturday&#8217;s.</span></p>



<h4 class="wp-block-heading"><span class="highlightNode">Pozhichalur</span> Sri Agastheeswarar <span class="highlightNode">Temple</span></h4>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Tempe is located close to Chennai airport and is 2 km from Pallavaram railway station.  Sani Bhagavan did penance for Lord Siva and got relieved from the committed sins. Sani Bhagavan did penance here as instructed by Lord Siva. Saneeswarar created Nallar Sani Theertham for his penance.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">KeezhPerumpallam Kethu Parihara Sthalam</h3>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Temple is dedicated to Lord Siva. Ketu did penance here for Lord Siva to get rid of Sins. Performing Ketu Pooja reduces the malefic effects of Ketu. There is a separate shrine for Ketu in the temple complex. Ketu can be seen here with head worshipping Lord Siva with folded hands. Temple is one of the Navagraha Sthalam located close to Kumbakonam. Temple is easily reachable from Kumbakonam bus and railway stations.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Sri Kalahasti Temple</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Rahu Ketu Pooja is performed. Those who are suffering from Ketu Dosha can perform pooja here. This pooja will be performed for Rahu and Ketu which takes 40 mins for Pooja followed by main deities Darshan. Devotees should fast till they complete this pooja. Performing Pooja during Rahu Kalam yields good results. Online booking is not available for this pooja as it is on arrival purchase over the counter. Pooja will be performed in batches from 6 am &#8211; 6 pm. Pooja can be performed as a single or couple.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Thirumuruganpoondi Temple</h3>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Temple is dedicated to Lord Siva. Temple Timings : 5:30 am &#8211; 12:45 pm and 3:30 pm &#8211; 8:15 pm. Worshipping Lord Siva here reduces the effects of Kethu Dasa. &nbsp;Lord Murugan did penance here for Lord Siva to get rid of Brahamahathi dosha after killing the demon Soorapadma. Performing Abhishekam to Murugan yields good results.</p>



<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Gerugambakkam Kethu Temple</h4>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Aadhi Kamakshi Thiru Neelakandeswarar <span class="highlightNode">temple</span> ( Kethu Pariharasthalam) is located in G<span class="highlightNode">erugambakkam</span>&nbsp;Chennai. Goddess Aadhi Kamakshi is in standing posture. This is the birthplace of Kamakshi and hence she is called by Aadhi Kamakshi. Temple is around 3 kilometres from Porur on Kundrathur road. Ketu rules knowledge so worshipping Ketu Bhagavan bless devotees with good knowledge. Temple is dedicated to Lord Siva.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Among the above-listed temples, Sri Kalahasti and Keezhperumpallam are the highly preferred places to perform Pooja.</p>

All pooja materials will be provided by the temple itself. No need to carry any other pooja materials for this Pooja.  After Pooja devotees are allowed to have Gnana Prasunambika and Kalahastheeswara Darshan inside the temple. One should fast till they complete this Pooja. Online booking is not available. It is on arrival purchase over the counter for the same day Pooja.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Pooja will be performed in batches from 6 am &#8211; &nbsp;6 pm.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Thirupampuram Temple</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Temple is dedicated to Lord Siva. Rahu Ketu Parihara Pooja will be performed here for 2 hours. Homam will be performed during Rahu Kala Timings. Online booking is not available for this Pooja ticket. Temple is located near to Kumbakonam and is easily reachable from Kumbakonam.  Pooja can be performed as a single or couple. After Pooja, one should not visit any other temples. Pooja is not advisable for Pregnant women and durinig periods.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Mopidevi Temple</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Mopidevi temple is dedicated to Lord Subramanya Swamy. Rahu Ketu pooja will be performed daily here from 7 am &#8211; 12 pm in batches. Online booking is not available here, it is on arrival purchase over the counter for the same day pooja. One should reach Mopidevi a day in advance and sleep on the floors in the temple premises for the night. Next day morning after fresh up, perform Rahu Ketu pooja followed by Rudrabhishekam. After this pooja, one should not visit any other temples. Pooja will be performed for 45 mins followed by Abhishekam to the deity.</p>
