Tourists inflow will be high in Nov, Dec and Jan months.

Best Time for Rhino Sightings: 3rd of Jan – Feb month. Grass level will be minimal during this time so visibility is high.

Elephant Safari Duration: 1 hour – 1 hour 30 mins. Daily during Park opening dates.

Wester Range, Bagori is good for Rhino, Elephants, Buffaloes Sightings. High chance of finding Rhinos in this Range.

Best Time: Evening Hours 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm.

Manas National Park History

Currently, 27 Rhinos are available in this park. Golden Langur Monkey can be seen here. Commonly seen animals are Tiger, Rhino, Elephant, Pygmy hog, Hispid hare, Assamese Macaque, Rhesus Macaque, Leopard, Golden Cat, Clouded leopard, Fishing cat, Leopard cat, Jungle Cat, the Large Indian civet, the Small Indian civet, Jackal, Common palm civet or Toddy cat, Himalaya palm civet, Binturong, Common Mongoose, Small Indian mongoose, Himalayan black bear, Sloth bear, Gaur, Water buffalo, Sambar, Hog deer, Barking deer, Swamp deer, Wild pigs etc.

It was declared as a reserve forest in 1908. Later this RF converted to a game sanctuary in 1916. This sanctuary was opened for visitors in 1937. It was declared as the wildlife sanctuary in the year 1950. In the year 1974, it was declared as the national park. In the year 1985, it was declared as the world heritage site by UNESCO. Tiger reserve in the year 2006. This park is inhabited with one-horned Rhinos. This park is inhabited with Tiger, Elephants, Wild buffaloes, Sambar. etc. 479 species of birds, 42 species of reptiles, 15 species of turtles, 42 species of Freshwater fish were recorded here. It is estimated that 100 migratory reaches here for reproduction.
