The word “adri” means “hillock” and the word “thoya” means “water.” So, Toyadri means mountains surrounded by water, which in Tamil is called Neermalai. It was called Thiruneermalai because the Lord (Thiru) stayed there.

The Brahmanda Puranam lists eight svayam vyakta kshetras. Thiruneermalai is one of them. It is said that Lord Vishnu manifested himself in the svayam vyakta kshetras, which are holy places. Here are the names of these places and the deities:

Srirangam: Sri Ranganatha and Sri Ranganayaki

Two people from Srimushnam are Sri Bhoovarahamurti and Sri Ambujavalli.

Lord Srinivasa and Sri Padmavati can be seen at Venkatachalam.

Naimisaranyam: Sri Devaraja Svamy and Sri Pundareekavalli

Sri Paramapurusha Svamy and Sri Pundareekavalli are the Pushkaram.

Lord Badrinarayana and Sri Aravindavalli are buried at Nara Narayanam.

Salagramam: Sri Murti and Sri Devi

Thayadri (Thiruneermalai): Sri Padmasini and Sri Ranganatha

People think that Thirumangai Alvar came to Thiruneermalai to pray to the Lord one day. But there was a rising stream of water around the temple that kept him from getting there. He had to wait on a nearby hill for six months. The water finally went away, and the Alvar was able to go to the temple. Thirumangai Alvarpuram is still the name of the place where the Alvar stayed.

The Lord can be seen in four different positions: Neervannan-Ninran (standing), Lord Narasimha-Irundan (sitting), Lord Ranganatha-Kidanthan (lying down), and Lord Trivikrama-Nadanthan (walking). As you can see, Alvar does a beautiful job of showing how these four expressions of the Lord are divine. In his piece, he says that in Thirunaraiyur, we can see the Lord standing. We see the Lord as Narasimha in Thiruvali. When we look at Tirukkudanthai, we see the Lord lying down.
In Thirukovilur, we see the Lord in the Trivikrama form, which is when He walked around the world twice. But in Thiruneermalai, all four of these shapes can be seen at the same time. This part of Alvar’s poem is used later in this chapter.

This is the name of the Lord in the temple at the base of the hill. At the base of the hill, there is also a small shrine for Sri Andal, Lord Rama, and all twelve Ahuls. If you go to the shrine at the top of the hill, you can see the utsava vigraham of Sri Ranganatha. It is kept in the shrine at the bottom of the hill. The hill is on the other side of the road from the temple. It’s around 200 feet tall and has 250 steps to get to the top. They are Lord Ranganatha, Lord Narasimha, and Lord Trivikrama. They are set up on top of the hill. Lord Sri Ranganatha is the most important god at the top of the hill.It is possible to see the god lying on Adisesha under Sri Ranga Vimanam with his back to the south. It is called Manicka sayanam when God stands in this way. The shrine for Trivikrama or Ulagalanda Perumal, is put on the side of the main sannidhi in the prakara. He can be seen under the Thoyagiri vimana. The sannidhi of Sri Santa Narasimha is next to it, under the Santa Vimanam. On top of that, there is a small shrine to Ranganayaki Thayar.

Ranganathaswamy Temple Thiruneermalai

Valmiki Maharishi is said to have visited Thiruneermalai, climbed the hill to see Lord Ranganatha, and then walked down the hill to worship the god at the base of the hill. He washed his feet near the tank and then prayed to Lord Rama. Lord Ranganatha is said to have come down from the hill and shown himself to Valmiki as Rama at that time. People say that when Lord Ranganatha changed into Lord Rama, Lakshmi Devi showed up as Janaki, Adisesha, the divine couch, changed into Lakshmana, the conch and the disc changed into Satrughna and Bharata, Vishvaksena became Sugreeva, and Garudalvar became An-janeyar. In this way, the whole family of Lord Rama appeared to Valmiki. Following this, Valmiki asked Lord Rama to stay in that spot and continue to bless other followers. People believe that Lord Rama then changed into the beautiful form of Neervannan and still blesses the people who pray at the base of the hill.

A lot of people know about the tank in Thiruneermalai. This type of music is usually called Ksheera Pushkarini. People think that the Karunya Pushkarini, the Siddha Pushkarini, and the Svarna Pushkarini are all inside it. People think that some of the water from the river Ksheer-abdhi in Vaikuntham is mixed with this tank when they talk about Ksheera Pushkarini. Some people say that Lord Narasimha was so happy to see how devoted the child Prahlada was that he cried tears of joy. As Karunya Padmini, those tears were stored in this tank. Some people, though, think that the most holy river, Ganga, runs into this tank. They call it Siddha Pushkarini because it is thought to flow from the head of Lord Siva. Some people think that Nityasuris brought water from the river Virajai in golden vessels for Neervannan’s holy bath and then poured some of that water into this tank. That’s why this tank is called Svarna Pushkarini. In this way, the tank has different meanings for different people.

Bhaktavatsala Perumal Temple, Thiruninravur

The sthala for Mangalasasana is not this one. Tirumangai Alvar is said to have been here once, but the Lord is said not to have seen him, so the Alvar did not sing any pasuram at Tiruninravur. A place is called a Mangalasasana Sthala and a Divya Desam only when the Alvars go there and sing praises to the Lord. In a strict sense, Tiruninravur is not really a divya desam. But some people think that the goddess caught the mistake before the god did, when Thirumangai Alvar wasn’t looking. One of the Lord’s true followers leaving the place in anger without even singing His praise will look bad on the Lord, she told him. It is said that the Lord agreed that this made sense and went to find Thirumangai Alvar. Shri Thirumangai Alvar had already reached Mamallapuram at that point. It was then that Thirumangai Alvar saw the Lord of Thiruninravur in his mind’s eye. When he saw the idol at Mahabalipuram, Alvar said that he saw the God of Thiruninravur in the idol.

Alvar saw the Lord of Tiruninravur in the Sthala Sayana Perumal of Mahabalipuram. When the Lord finished what He set out to do, He went back to His wife and told her that He had been able to give Thirumangai Alvar sight and make him sing a couplet in His honor. The consort wasn’t happy with this, so she said that Thirumangai Alvar was a prolific musician who would often write many songs in praise of the Lord at the temples he visited. Because of this, she asked the Lord to go back to Thirumangai Alvar and ask him to sing at least one more pasuram in praise of Him. So, the Lord went to find Thirumangai Alvar, who had already arrived at Thirukkannapuram by then. Thirumangai Alvar saw the Lord of Tiruninravur again in his mind’s eye while he was looking at the statue at Thirukkannapuram. Thirumangai Alvar sings praises of the Lord at Thirukkannapuram in the pasuram. The following lines say that he was seeing the idol of the Lord at Tiruninravur while he was looking at the idol of Thirukkannapuram.

In fact, the Vedic scholars thought that these two pasurams meant a lot more than they did. These two pasurams made it clear that there is only one God and that He only shows up in different ways in different places, according to them. In other words, the Lord who showed up in Tiruninravur is the same Lord who can be seen in Mallapuram and Thirukkannapuram.

Bhaktavatsala Perumal Temple History, Thiruninravur

There is an interesting sthala puranam that talks about this place. People say that while the Lord and His consort were in the skies (Thirupparkadal), the goddess left because she didn’t understand something and went to Tiruninravur. It’s said that “Thiru” means “wealth,” and Goddess Lakshmi is the goddess of wealth. Our lady Lakshmi stayed here, so it’s called Tiruninravur.
But the Saivites have another story about how this place got its name. They think that there was a debate in the past about which religion, Samanam (Jainism) or Saivism, was stronger. They chose to light a lamp and float it in the Coovam River to see what would happen.
The wick is called “Thiri” in Tamil. As the wick was lit to support saivism, the lamp got brighter and reached a certain village by the river. The village where the Thiri (the wick and the lamp) stopped is called Thiri Ninravur, which means “the place where it stopped.” As time went on, this was thought to have become Tiruninravur and Tinnanore.

Srinivasa Kshetram is another name for this place. It got that name because Lord Narayana came here to find his divine companion and stayed the night. Also, it is said that when Goddess Lakshmi, the holy mother, left Thirup-Parkadal, her father, Lord Samudraraja, went looking for her and found her at Tiruninravur. The father was so happy to see his daughter, the holy mother, who is often called “Tvam maata sarva lokanam,” which means “mother of the world” or “Akhila jagan mata.” Since the goddess is the holy mother, even the father called her mother when he was happy to find her. The Thayar is called “Ennai Petra Thayar,” which means “the mother who gave birth to me.” It’s possible that this only means that the heavenly spouse is the mother of everyone. The Samudra raja is said to have stayed in Tiruninravur for a while with his daughter. He built an asramam next to a tank. People started calling this tank Varuna Pushkarini.

Ayush Homam in Chennai: Cost, Benefits, and Procedure

On a birthday occasion, this homa blesses the devotee with longevity, energy, and rejuvenation. It helps to treat severe medical conditions and mental illnesses. This homa positively impacts an individual’s mind and mental health. It serves as a cure for people who are unhappy or depressed.

The son of Saint Mrukandu, Rishi Markandeya, was destined to pass away at sixteen. Markandeya wrapped the Shivalinga and prayed to Lord Shiva on his final day of life. He prayed to Lord Shiva for protection from harm by chanting the holy Mrityunjaya Stotram. The rope encircled Lord Yama and the Linga as Yama attempted to throw it around Markandeya’s neck. It left the Lord of Death struggling to survive. Then, Lord Shiva spared Yama’s life in exchange for Markandeya, one of His devotees, who was also being spared.

The Ayush Homa’s invisible energies energize consciousness and help us realize how eternal and pure consciousness truly is. For this reason, taking part in Ayush Homa is considered highly beneficial for a Sadhak since it reveals Eternal Awareness and strengthens the body.

Shatru Samhara Homam in Chennai: Cost, Benefits, and Procedure

A person gains happiness and power from this Homam. It shields and guards against enemies, conflicts, evil looks, and divine curses. It improves relationships within the family, gets rid of frustration, fear, and mental obstacles, pays off debts, heals deadly illnesses, bestows kids, and grants six Siddhis in addition to good health.

Lord Shatru Samhara Deva is another name for Lord Muruga. He is the Lord who can remove enemies from your life and replace them with happiness and peace. He resides in six holy forms and locations that represent different goals and achievements in life.

Whether you’re a corporate executive, a homemaker, or a magnet for business, having rivals and competitors or being skilled in any profession is an asset to your career. Perform the Sri Shatru Samhara Thrisathi Homa if you believe that your enemies are taking advantage of you and throwing away your life. Your rivals will submit to you and refrain from causing you any problems.

Shatru Samhara Homam in Chennai

Invoking Muruga and reciting his 300 holy names is the first step of the Shatru Samhara Homam. Offerings to homa kunda, such as ghee and grains, symbolize ego surrender and divine prayer in the ritual. Reciting Lord Muruga’s name with great dedication builds a spiritual atmosphere and creates a connection with God.

This Homam has excellent power to drive out bad energy and obstructions. Invoking Lord Muruga brings harmony and equilibrium while helping defeat enemies both internally and externally. It is a spiritual weapon against unexpected struggles and represents the victory of good over evil. The Homam promotes prosperity in life, provides protection from harm, and leads to spiritual strength.
Chandi Homam in Chennai temples: Cost, Benefits, and Procedure

With the energy and goddess Chandi Devi igniting life, Nava Chandi Homam is a very promising homam. The most effective way to please the great goddess and welcome her blessings in life is through this homam. Lightning, a fire kund, sacrificed fire, mantra chanting, and goddess worship all contribute to the performance of a Yagya in Nava Chandi Homam. Chanting particular mantras from Durga Saptashati and worshipping Chandi Devi’s is performed.

This puja is good for those

Chandi Homam in Chennai

The Chandi Homam is used to remove any hurdles or blockages to a person’s or a group’s growth, both inside and outwardly. This is a significant homam and among the most recommended ones for successful dosha eradication in all businesses, particularly for defeating rivals and winning legal battles. Chandi Homam is for Devi, just as Rudrabhishekam is for Shiva. During this pooja, Devi is worshipped as Lakshmi, Saraswati, and Chandi. The entire 700-sloka recital of Durga Saptashati (Devi Mahatmyam) is recited, along with a havan and the Chandi mantra (Aim Hrim Klim Chamundaye Vichhe). Following that, rituals for Dampati, Suhasini, Kanya, and Brahmachari are done.
