Thomala Seva Description, Timings and Booking procedure

Arjita Seva means performing Seva to the Lord on payment of a fee to the temple. Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams oversee the worship of the Lord and His finances.

There are three kinds of Sevas: Daily Seva, Weekly Seva and Periodical Sevas. Thomala Seva is a daily Seva.

Seva Ticket Cost: Rs.250 Per Person. Only 10 Thomala Seva Tickets are released for online booking on a daily basis. Remaining Thomala Seva Tickets are reserved under Current booking.

Seva Time: 3:30 A.M To 4:00 A.M

Dress Code: Men must remove Shirt and Vest during The Seva. Dhoti or White Pancha is a must. Pant is not allowed.

Female: Saree with blouse/ Punjabi Dress with Dupatta / Chudidhar with Dupatta/ Half Saree

Daily Sevas

Pilgrims can perform Sevas to both the main deity and the Utsava Murti. The Arjita Sevas performed to the main deity of Sri Venkateswara in the sanctum sanctorum are conducted between 3.00 AM to 6.00 AM, during which darshan is allowed up to the threshold of the sanctum itself.

The Temple addresses the main person performing the Seva as Grihasta. All people performing Sevas are advised to report to the Vaikuntham Queue Complex at least 45 minutes to 1 hour before the start of the Seva. Usually, the time of reporting to the Queue complex is provided on the purchased ticket.

Most of the Sevas require the pilgrims to adhere to traditional dressing norms: dhoti around the waist and uttariya (upper cloth) on the shoulder for men and saree salwar for women

Thomala Seva

After Suprabhata Seva, Suddhi takes place and Thomala Seva starts around 3.45 A.M. and lasts for 45 minutes. This is the Seva wherein Lord Venkateswara is adorned with all types of flowers. The Pushpa Kainkaryam has done to Lord Srinivasa by Pradhana Archaka. Thomala Seva is the Seva where the Lord of Seven Hills is bedecked with beautiful, fragrant flowers. During this Seva, THIRUPPAVAI is recited and many basketfuls of flowers are offered to the Lord. Devotees are allowed to sit and watch the Seva for more than half an hour.

During 4.30 A.M. to 4.45 A.M., Koluvu takes place wherein the accounts of the previous day are readout. This is not Arjitha Seva and is held in privacy. After the accounts are read out, the same is read out in front of Sri Govindaraja Swamy at Tirupati as it is believed that Sri Govindaraja Swamy had lent money to Srinivasa for His wedding and as Lord Srinivasa promised to repay Sri Govindaraja Swamy till the end of Kali-yuga, Srinivasa promised to repay Sri Govindaraja Swamy. Hence, every day, the accounts are read out in front of Sri Govindaraja Swamy.
