Brahma Theertham

To the East of the Temple opposite to the main Gopuram, there is a tank created by Lord Brahma. Hence the name Brahma Theertham. It is believed that taking a holy dip in this Theertham will achieve Brahma Loka afterlife

Saraswathi Theertham

Theertham is located to the South of the temple. Theertham is facing Sub-Shrine housing the Goddess. This Theertham was created by the Goddess Saraswathi. Holy dip in this Theertham for 45 consecutive days followed by the prayer to the deities is believed to bless even the dump with eloquence and effusive wisdom

Nala Theertham

This temple is located to the Northwest of the temple. This temple tank was created by the popular king Nala to get rid of his miseries. It is said to possess miraculous powers. It is believed that a holy dip in this tank followed by the worship of the deities would totally rid them of all their miseries including the ill effects caused by Saneeswarar.

Nalakoopam (Well)

This well is located on the bank of Nala Theertham. It is said that this well was dug out by the King Nala. Water from this well is used for the temple rituals.

Sthala Vriksha

For Thirunallar Temple, Kusa (Darba) grass is the sacred tree. The main deity here called by Darbaraneswara who self-manifested in the Darba forest. The scar of Darba can be seen on the main deity in the sanctum sanctorum. This is the only temple with Kusa as the Sthala Vriksha.

Morning Hours: 6:00 am – 12:30 pm

Evening Hours: 4:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Saturday Opening Hours: 5:00 am – 9:00 pm

Thirunallar Theertham remains open during temple opening hours.

How to reach Thirunallar Temple?

1. Thirunallar is 5 km from Karaikal. This route is well connected with different places by Bus routes.
2. This route connects Chennai, Tindivanam, Puducherry, Mayiladuthurai, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Coimbatore, Erode, Trichy, Thanjavur, Nagapattinam.
