]]> Ramappa Temple Warangal is dedicated to Lord Siva with Nandi Mandap in front. The vimana was built using sponge-like bricks which float on water. The main temple stands on a platform which is 2 metres from the ground. Temple has five facets and stands on 32 pillars. Pillars are beautifully carved with women figures in a dancing pose. Maha Sivaratri will be celebrated in a grand at this temple. Ramappa Lake is located near to the temple. The presiding deity Ramalingeswara, symbolising in the mystic ‘Linga’ stands on a high pedestal ‘Yoni Peetha’ of highly polished black basalt, in the centre of the sanctum.

Ramappa Temple Warangal History

This temple was built during the reign of Ganapati Deva from Kakatiya dynasty in 1213 Century A.D. This temple was built with the pious efforts from the general Rudra of the Recherla family.  To the north of the main temple is a subsidiary temple whose platform has eight cells. The entrance door is carved with the images of Siva Thanadavam poses. There is an another temple in the south with beautiful carvings. The sculptural decoration around the walls of the temple is a depiction of human activities, showing fresh charms, elegance and almost metallic finish.
