<p>Narayanapuram Neelakanteswara Swamy Temple is located near Bobbili in Vizianagaram District. Temple is located on the banks of Swarna Mukhi river. &nbsp;It is believed that worshipping Lord Siva at this place will be blessed with good health. Sivaratri festival will be celebrated in a grand. Thousands of devotees throng the temple on the special days. Devotees used to take a holy dip in the river before entering the temple complex.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Narayanapuram Neelakanteswara Swamy Temple History</h2>



<p>From the inscriptions on the temple walls, it is known that this temple was built during the reign of Eastern Gangas. Eastern Ganga King Ananta Varma Choda Ganga Deva who was an ardent devotee of Lord Siva built the temple in 1010 A.D. &nbsp;Neelakanteswara, Sangameswara, Mallikarjuna and Naleswara Siva shrines are located within the temple complex. Shrine of Neelakanteswara is bigger than the remaining Shrines in the complex. The entrance door was beautifully carved with the Idols of Navagrahas and Lakshmi. Rich carvings of Siva, Kartikeya, Brahma, Vishnu, Saraswati, Nataraj, Arthanareeswara, Vinayaka, Mahisasura Mardini can be seen on the walls of Garba Griha.</p>



<p>Sangameswara shrine is located to the north of Nilakanteswara shrine. This temple reflects Kalinga architecture and culture. Naleswara shrine is located to the South of Nilakanteswara shrine.</p>

<ol class="wp-block-list"><li>The nearest international airport is at Visakhapatnam which is 120 km away.</li></ol>



<h4 class="wp-block-heading">By Train</h4>



<ol class="wp-block-list"><li>There is a direct train available from Visakhapatnam to Narayanapuram. Visakhapatnam is well connected with all parts of India.</li></ol>



<h4 class="wp-block-heading">By Road</h4>



<ol class="wp-block-list"><li>The direct bus is available from Bobbili and Parvatipuram. From Parvatipuram, there is a direct bus to Gowripuram in the Garugubill Mandal. From Gowripuram, one should cross the river Swarna Mukhi to reach the temple by walk. From Bobbili, the temple is 25 km away.</li></ol>
