1990	Declared as Manas National Park with 500 Sq.Km of area
2003	Declared as Chirang – Ripu Elephant Reserve with 2600 Sq.Km of area

Currently, 27 Rhinos are available in this park. Golden Langur Monkey can be seen here. Commonly seen animals are Tiger, Rhino, Elephant, Pygmy hog, Hispid hare, Assamese Macaque, Rhesus Macaque, Leopard, Golden Cat, Clouded leopard, Fishing cat, Leopard cat, Jungle Cat, the Large Indian civet, the Small Indian civet, Jackal, Common palm civet or Toddy cat, Himalaya palm civet, Binturong, Common Mongoose, Small Indian mongoose, Himalayan black bear, Sloth bear, Gaur, Water buffalo, Sambar, Hog deer, Barking deer, Swamp deer, Wild pigs etc.

Best time to visit: November to April

Closing Time depends on the sunset: 4.30 pm in the month of November and March. 5:30 pm during April month.

Safari Details: Elephant Safari and Jeep Safari (Gypsy) are available. Private/Own Vehicles are not allowed inside. Only Registered vehicles with the park are allowed inside.
