Malemahadeswara betta is one of the pilgrim’s places which is located in the Kollegal Taluk, Chamarajanagara district of southern Karnataka. It is 150 km away from the Mysore and 210 km from Bangalore. It is one of the ancient temples and the deity which is prayed by the pilgrims are called “Malemahadeshwara”. It is believed that incarnation of Lord Shiva as a “ Lingayat saint”. and here we can see the self-manifestation of linga.According to the Historical evidence in 15th-century Mahadeshwara lived in this place and performed penance. It is said that Mahadeshwara is performing Tapas even now in the Garba Griha. He used “Tiger” as his vehicle (Huli Vahana) and resided in the hills which are dense forest area surrounded by the seventy-seven peaks in seven circles. Hence he is named as a  Malemahadeswara. This temple not only attracts the devotees but also the nature lovers.

Good time to visit the temple during Mahalaya Amavasya, Dasara, Diwali, Karthika Masa, and performing Jathra during this festivals.

Maharudrabhisheka Sevas: 10:30 am – 2:00 pm ( only Thursday available and not available during special days)
