<p>Kolleru Lake Timings, Best Time, Resorts and Entry fee details</p>



<p>Best Time to Visit: Nov &#8211; Mar months</p>



<p>Birds reach Kolleru during Oct month and Leave nests in the Apr month. Around 200 bird species make Kolleru as their Home during this time. Majorly Birds from Australia, Siberia, Egypt and Philippines reaches Kolleru for reproduction.</p>



<p>Kolleru Lake Birds: Spot-billed pelicans, Grey Pelicans, Open Bill Storks, Painted Storks, Glossary Ibises, White Ibises, Teals, Pintails, Shovellers, Red-Crested Pochards, Black-winged Stilts, Avocets, Common Redshanks, Winged Stilts, Avocets, Common Redshanks, Pigeons, Gadwalls and Cormorants can be seen here.</p>



<p>Lake Spreads over an area of 673 sq. kilometres. During the rainy season, the heavy flow from Budameru and Tammileru enters Kolleru Lake. This area was declared as a Wildlife Sanctuary in Nov 1999.</p>



<p>This is the second-largest freshwater lakes in India. Lake is located between the deltas of River Godavari and Krishna.</p>



<p>Boating will be available when water levels are good. Mostly after the rainy season. During Summer Season the water level mostly comes down and migrating birds will move to different places.</p>



<p>There are no entry fees for visiting the Lake. Boat race will be held to promote tourism on 2nd Feb marking the World Wetland Day.</p>



<p>Tourists can stay at Eluru, Kaikaluru as these places are easily accessible.</p>

<ol class="wp-block-list"><li>Kolleru is 1.5 km from Kaikaluru. The direct bus is available from Vijayawada, Eluru.</li></ol>
