Kabini River is the tributary of the River Cauvery flows through the Reserve forest.

Best Time to Visit: Oct-May.

Mar-May is the best for Elephant herd sightings on the river banks.

Boat Safari Duration: 3 hours

Jeep Safari Duration: 3 hours.

The tourist’s inflow will be high during Nov, Dec, Jan, Apr, May and Jun months. Advance booking required for Jeep and Boat Safari as rides are limited on any day.

Tourists usually plan for a two-day trip ie. Deep Jungle Safari on 1st Day and Boat Safari on the second day.

Elephants, Indian Bison, Jackals, Tiger (Rare), Leopard,  Marsh Crocodile, Smooth-Coated Otter, Spotted Deer, Sambar, Black Panther, Wild boars etc are commonly seen on the river bank.

Commonly seen birds are Egrets, Little Cormorant, Black cormorant, grey cormorant, Kingfisher, Peacock, Brahminy Kite, Grey-headed fish eagle, Bar-headed goose, Snake Bird, Black-headed Ibis, Lapwing, Lesser Whistling Duck, Grey Heron, Vulture, Common Sandpiper, Osprey etc.
