There is an interesting story attached to this temple, Aurangzeb conquered the Fort Daulat Mangal. Aurangzeb saw Jejuri Mandir and sent his soldiers to destroy the temple. Soldiers climbed up the hill and reached the fort wall entrance. As the pathway was closed, they decided to blow up the entrance with dynamite. They dug a small hole to place the dynamite, surprisingly thousands of bees attacked the soldiers. The commander informed the King of this incident. Aurangzeb came to know that Khandoba was hot-tempered and punish any such acts. The King granted 1 lakh and quarter rupees towards the temple. The bees disappeared and soldiers returned to their camp.

The temple faces east. The stone tortoise plated with a brass sheet is 28 ft in diameter. It is believed that worshipping Khandoba will be blessed with a child for the couple.

Important Festivals

Every year on Chaitra Shravan, Pausha and Magha, five days between the twelfth day of the first half, and the first day of the second fortnight are the festival days.
