<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Govindavadi Temple History</h2>



<p>As per the Legend, During a war between Devas and Asuras, Lord Vishnu Chakra mistakenly fell on Sage Dadheechi and lost its power. Lord Vishnu decided to perform Pooja for Lord Siva to regaining the lost power. Lord Vishnu along with his Consorts took a holy dip in the Tirta. Lord Siva appeared before Lord Vishnu in Guru form and taught him Mantras. Lord Siva ordered his disciple to worship his Linga form at Thirumalpur with 1000 flowers. As instructed Lord Vishnu offered prayers to the Linga and got this Discuss with its full power.&nbsp;As Lord Siva appeared in Guru form, hence the deity worshipped as Dakshinamurthy.</p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Dakshinamurthy Pooja</h4>



<p>Special Pooja will be performed on Thursdays for Guru Bhagavan. Temple will be heavily crowded on this special day. &nbsp;Guru Preethi pooja will be performed to reduce the malefic effects of Guru.</p>
