<p>Gokarna Mahabaleshwar Temple is dedicated to Lord Siva. Lord Siva believe to be in Atma Linga as per Skanda Purana. This place is also known as Bhookailas. Devotees are allowed to touch Atma Linga during Darshan Time and also perform Abhishekam with own hands. Temple is located on the banks of Seashore. &nbsp;Sivaratri will be celebrated in a grand, lakhs of devotees visit temple on this holy day. Lord will be taken out in a procession&nbsp;on a car around the temple. Free marriages will be performed for the devotees who are below the poverty line.</p>



<p>Special poojas will be performed to the deity daily.</p>

<p>It was mentioned in the Skanda Purana, that Ravana an ardent devotee of Lord Siva performed strict penance in Kailas and procured Lord Siva&#8217;s Atma Linga. Devas worried and prayed for Lord Vinayaka to retain Lord Siva&#8217;s Atma Linga at Gokarna. This place hailed as Southern Varanasi (Kasi).</p>

<p>Free Anna Prasada will be performed daily. It will be performed twice in a day ie. 12:00 pm &#8211; 2:00 pm and 7:30 pm &#8211; 8:30 pm.</p>
