<p>Bull Temple History, Timings, Festivals and Pooja details</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Bull Temple History</h2>



<p>Bull Temple is popular by the name Dodda&nbsp;Basavana Gudi, where Dodda means Big in Kannada. This temple was built by the King Kempe Gowda in 1537 AD. Temple architecture reflects the Dravidian style. Nandi vehicle for Lord Siva is of 4.5 mt in height and 6.5 mt in length.</p>



<p>As per the Legend, Bull used to graze on the groundnut fields daily. One day farmer saw the bull grazing on the field and hit the Bull with the stick. The bull then turned into&nbsp;the statue and started growing large. The farmer the prayed for Lord Siva who appeared in his dreams and advised him to place the trident on the Bull&#8217;s head. Trident can be seen clearly during the temple visit. From then on Farmers used to celebrate festival groundnut festival to pacify Bull. They used to offer their first ground nuts crop for the deity and this festival called by Kadalekai Parishe. Kadalekai Parishe festival will be celebrated on first Monday and Tuesday in Karthika Masam.</p>

<p>Evening Hours: 5:30 pm &#8211; 8:30 pm</p>



<p>Dress Code: Any decent outfit.</p>

<ol class="wp-block-list"><li>The direct train is available from major parts of India to Bengaluru. From the Railway station, the temple is 5.6 km away.</li></ol>

<ol class="wp-block-list"><li>Temple is located close to N.R.Colony. Temple can be reached by Bus from Majestic to N.R.Colony / Srinagar / Thyagaraja Nagar.</li></ol>
