<p class="title style-scope ytd-video-primary-info-renderer">Badami Banashankari Temple History, Timings, Route info, Darshan</p>



<p>As per the Legend, Goddess Banashankari killed the demon&nbsp;Durgamasura at this place. The deity is also called as Vana Shankari or Shakambari or Banadevi. Ban or Van means Forest, Shankari means Lord Siva&#8217;s Consort. Banashankari is the incarnation of Goddess Parvathi.&nbsp;Banadastami will be celebrated on a grand which falls on the 8th day after New moon in Pushya Masam.</p>



<p>This temple was built in 630 AD by the Jagadekamalla I, Kalyani Chalukya Kings. Chalukya kings worshipped the goddess as their Kula Daivam.&nbsp;Later this temple was renovated by Vijayanagara kings. The present form the temple was built in 1750, by Parusharam Agale, a Maratha chieftain.</p>



<p>Banashankari Jatre will be celebrated in the months of January or February. During this Annual festival, Rath Yatra and boat festival will be celebrated in a grand. The processional deity will be taken out as a procession around the city.</p>

<ol class="wp-block-list"><li>The direct bus is available from major cities of Karnataka, Maharastra, Goa and Andhra Pradesh.</li></ol>
