<p>Aurangabad Caves Timings, Entry fees, Online Booking</p>



<p>The cave Temples were cut between the 6th and 8th Century.</p>



<table class="wp-block-table"><tbody><tr><td>Cave</td><td>Details</td></tr><tr><td>Cave 1</td><td>Vihara of the 7<sup>th</sup> Century. <br>23.16 mt Verandah with 8 pillars. <br>On the West is a Buddha on a lotus seat supported by Nagas. <br>Outside the Verandah there is a row of sitting Buddha <br>at the left end of the wall.</td></tr><tr><td>Cave 2</td><td>Chaitya-hall. Belongs to the 7<sup>th</sup> Century. <br>Seated Buddha occupies the Shrine, <br>his feet on the lotus, his hands folded in the attitude of preaching, <br>and over his shoulders are celestial beings.</td></tr><tr><td>Cave 3</td><td>Pillared Verandah has a hall supported on 12 richly carved columns. <br>In the front of the shrine which is occupied by large seated Buddha are two groups of Votaries, male and female. <br>The total depth of the cave is 24.99 mt and its width of 19.20 mt. <br>This is one of the most completely developed and among <br>the latest of the Buddhist Cave temples in India.</td></tr><tr><td>Cave 4</td><td>Is a Chaitya-hall of the Hinayana system.</td></tr><tr><td>Cave 5</td><td>Not much interesting. <br>Almost a 1.5 Km away to the east in the same range of <br>hills are the second group of excavations.</td></tr><tr><td>Cave 6</td><td>Features of Chaitya-hall and Vihara. The shrine contains a <br>Huge Buddha with attendants.</td></tr><tr><td>Cave 7</td><td>Large inner Cell with an imaging chamber. <br>6 cells which served as living quarters for monks. <br>The sculptures are characteristic of Mahayana mythology.</td></tr></tbody></table>
