Ticket Booking Procedure

Online booking or Advance booking is not available, tickets will be issued only at the counter. Ticket Costs Rs.200 per child.

Children Age

Should be 2 and above to perform this event.

Dress Code

Men Should Wear White Dhoti, Upper Cloth or shirt.

Female: Saree with blouse/ Punjabi Dress with Dupatta / Chudidhar with Dupatta/ Half saree

As this pooja performed outside the main temple, the dress code is not applicable. However, devotees will go for Goddess Mookambika Darshan after this Pooja so following Dress Code will make things easier.

Mookambika Temple Vidyarambham Procedure

One should reach Kollur a day in advance so that you can start little early on this day. Temple will be crowded on special days. Vidyarambham will be performed in Saraswati Mantap outside the main temple. A ticket should be purchased from the counter. On special days queue line will be little long for this event. The Pundit will be performing this event to a group 8 – 10 families in one stretch.

The Pundit will recite mantras at the end, parent holds his child’s figure to write mantra ‘Om Hari Sri Ganapathiye Namah’ followed by letters on in a tray of rice grains. Later, the pundit will write mantra on the child’s tongue with gold, which marks the end of the event. This event will not take more 30 mins.

What is Vidyarambham?

Vidyarambham is a ceremony for children where they are introduced to education and learning. This ritual will be performed in front of Mookambika Idol. Vidya means Knowledge, Arambham means Learning. This event will be performed by the devotees irrespective of caste and religions. It is believed that performing Vidyarambham here at Kollur Mookambika will bless the kids with good education.
