Thingalur Chandran Temple

As per the legend. Chandran had 27 wives, who are daughters of Daksha Prajapathi, among all his wives, Rohini was his favourite. Chandran used to spend most of his time Rohini, ignoring other wives. Knowing this from his Daughters, Daksha cursed Chandran that he would gradually fade away. Chandran did penance for Lord Siva here, to get relieved from Daksha’s curse. To save Chandran the curse, Siva decorated him on his head as the crescent moon. As Daksha’s curse can’t be ignored, Chandran will Wane for the first 15 days, and Waning for the next 15 days.

Temple is easily reachable from Kumbakonam Railway and Bus stations.

Sooriyanar Temple Aduthurai

Temple is located in the East Kumbakonam and is 2 km from Aduthurai. Sun resides here with his consorts Ushadevi and Chhaya Devi. It is said that Sun God did penance here for Lord Siva and relieved from Brahma’s curse.

Temple Timings – 6 A.M. to 12.30 P.M. and 4 P.M. to 8 P.M.

Vaitheeswaran Koil Sirkali – Chevvai Dosha

Angarakan (Chevvai), son of Lord Siva, who born from the drop of Lord Siva’s.  Once, When Lord Siva was in deep meditation, a drop of sweat from the Siva’s forehead fell on the Earth. A male child was born out of this drop. It is said that Lord Siva cured Angarakan skin disease, following which he joined Navagraha Club.

One should take a holy dip at Temple Tank ‘Siddsmrita’ before entering the temple, which is believed to possess healing properties for skin diseases.

Special pooja will be performed for Kuja Dosha or Chevvai Dosha or Mangal Dosha.

Thiruvenkadu Budhan Sthalam

Swetharanyeswara Swamy resides here with His Consort Brahma Vidyambal.

Swetharanya means White forest. This temple is famous for Budhan Shanthi. Taking a holy dip at Chandra Theertham, which is at the temple entrance and worshipping Lord Siva will relieve one from Budhan Dosha. Wednesday is the best day for Budhan Pooja.

Abathsahyeswarar Temple, Alangudi Guru Sthalam

Temple is dedicated to Lord Siva. The presiding deity Abhathsahyeswarar resides here with his consort Tribuvananayagi. Sage Viswamitra and King Mushukunda and Veerabadra did penance here for Lord Siva. This is Guru Sthalam, where Guru appears in the form of Sri Dakshinamurthy. He is called as Brihaspati as he controls education and fine arts. Temple is reachable from Kumbakonam.

Kanjanur Sukran Temple

Temple is dedicated to Lord Siva. The presiding deity Agniswarar residing here with his consort Karpagambal. It is one of the Navagraha Sthalam and is dedicated to Sukran (Venus). As per the legends, Agni (God for fire) did penance here for the Lord Siva. Temple is 18 km from Kumbakonam and is easily reachable from Kumbakonam Railway station and bus station. Worshipping Sukuran on Friday is preferable.

Thirunallar Sani Temple

Thirunallar Temple is dedicated to Lord Siva. Lord Siva is known as Darbaranyeswarar here and Goddess Parvathi as Bhogamartha Poonmulai Amman.  One will be relieved from Shani Dasa completely or to some extent by having a bath at Brahma Theertham and Praying for Lord Siva here in wet clothes.  This place was originally called by Darbaranya, as this region was fully covered with Darba grass. Shani Peyarchi festival will be celebrated in a grand as thousands of devotees visit this temple to offer prayers to the deity.

Thirunaraiyur Sani Temple

Thirunaraiyur Saneeswaran Temple is dedicated to Lord Siva. The main deity Lord Siva is called by Ramanatha Swamy and Goddess is called by Parvatha Vardhini. Sani Bhagawan resides here with His Consorts, Manda Devi, and Neeladevi and His Sons, Manda, and Kuligan. Worshipping Saneeswarar will reduce the malefic effects of Saturn. This temple is known as Mangala Saneeswarar temple which means Sani resides here with His family. Temple is close to Trichy and is easily reachable from Trichy bus station and railway station.

KeezhPerumpallam Ketu Temple

Temple is dedicated to Lord Siva. Ketu did penance here for Lord Siva to get rid of Sins. Performing Ketu Pooja reduces the malefic effects of Ketu. There is a separate shrine for Ketu in the temple complex. Ketu can be seen here with head worshipping Lord Siva with folded hands. Temple is one of the Navagraha Sthalam located close to Kumbakonam. Temple is easily reachable from Kumbakonam bus and railway stations.

Thirupampuram Rahu Ketu Temple

Temple is dedicated to Lord Siva. Rahu Ketu Parihara Pooja will be performed here for 2 hours. Homam will be performed during Rahu Kala Timings. Online booking is not available for this Pooja ticket. Temple is located near to Kumbakonam and is easily reachable from Kumbakonam.  Pooja can be performed as a single or couple. After Pooja, one should not visit any other temples. Pooja is not advisable for pregnant women and during periods.

Thirunageswaram Rahu Temple

Abhishekam will be performed during Raghu Kaalam. Temple is located near Kumbakonam. The Direct bus is available from Kumbakonam bus station to this temple. Online booking is not available for this Pooja. It is on arrival purchase over the counter for the same day Pooja.

  2. Hi sir, we need to go navagraha temple and do Abisegam for each navagraha. We are 2 adult and 2 children age 12 yrs and 11 yrs.
    Planning to come on february 15 2018, but very short trip and also we need to go thirupathi and trichy woraiyur vekkaliamman temple. Please advise me.

    As per the instructions of my Hon’ble Guruji, I wish to perform puja/ abhishekam for Rahu Kethu (24th Agugust 2018) & Shani (25th August 2018) devaras.

    Can I book the tickets for the sevas in advance through on line or please help me in performing the sevas to the holy deities.
