• The Bride must be 18 years and above.
• The Groom must be 21 years and above.
• Only Hindu arranged marriage is allowed here
• Unmarried certificate required from Bride and Groom.
• The Bride’s and Groom’s Aadhar Card and Birth certificate photocopy required.
• The Bride parents and Groom parents Photo ID proof is required.
• Advance booking is required for the marriage.
• Parents must be available for the marriage.
• Online booking is not available for marriage booking.
• Marriage from the same community is allowed.
• The marriage Enrollment form will be available at the counter.

Abhishekam Timings:

Morning Hours: 6:00 am – 12:00 pm

Evening Hours: 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Only Palabhishekam (with Milk) is performed to the main deity Daily.

Ticket Cost: Rs.5 for one person.

Thiruparankundram Abhishekam

Abhishekam is performed with 100 litres of milk in a day.

The ticket can be booked on arrival at the counter for the same day Abhishekam. Online Booking is not available for this Pooja.

The devotees are allowed to sit and watch the Abhishekam performed to the main deity inside Sanctum Sanctorum.

Thiruparankundram History

As per the Legend, Lord Subramanya Swamy married Indra’s daughter Devasena at this place. It is said that this temple was built during 6th Century AD. This is a cave temple where Lord Resides where with DevaSena. This is one of the 6 holy abodes of Lord Muruga. It is also said that Subramanya did penance for Lord Siva here as Parangirinathar. King Harishchandra did penance here on this Hill for Lord Siva.

As per the folklore, Poet Nakkeerar was captured by the Devil who came here to perform penance for Lord Siva. The poet prayed for Lord Murugan who appeared before and Killed the demon with his weapon. Lord Subramanya created a holy tank with his weapon Vel on request of the poet.

Punugu (Civet oil) will be applied to the deity. Abhishek is performed on the weapon Vel.
