Sri Venugopalaswamy temple Karvetinagaram History, Route info.

At the ancient majestic location of Karvetinagaram, there is an important Lord Krishna temple renowned as the Sri Venugopalaswamy Temple Karvetinagaram. This is the only Krishna temple located in the vicinity of Tirupati, depicting the Childhood of Lord Krishna.

It is located at the town Karvetinagaram, located at a distance of 42 km from the Tirupati. Here the Lord is abode along with his virtuous consorts by the names of Goddess Rukmini Devi and Goddess Satyabhama Ammavaru. This temple is located at the Karvetinagaram. This temple comes under the direct administrative control of T.T.D, Tirupati. The temple was once maintained by the Narayanavanam Rulers.

Karvetinagaram Sub-Temples:

There is also a shrine for Lord Rama accompanied by Sita Devi, Lakshmana and Anjaneya, the Parthasarthy, Avanakshamma and Renuka Parameshwari temples and Skanda Pushkarini.

Sri Venugopalaswamy Temple Karvetinagaram

This temple beholds the beautiful image of Venugopala Krishna, an eternally charming Lord Krishna holding flute at the reading position and his favourite pot of butter kept at the feet. As the Lord is positioned in front of a cow, the time and circumstances are clear and precise. But the presence of his consorts Sri Rukmini Ammavaru and Sri Satyabhama AmmaVaru brings us a greater perspective about the temple and the Lord. It tells us that Lord Krishna is ever-present while transcending the limits of time and life. With paying homage to Sri Venugopala Swamy, you can find relief from many earthly worries and problems. When a childless couple visits the Sri Venugopala Swamy Temple, the Lord shall bless you with a child, beholding the blessings of Lord Krishna.

Karvetinagaram festivals

Important festivals observed here include the Annual Brahmotsavam, Utlotsavam, Vaikunta Ekadasi or Mukkoti Ekadasi, Ugadi, Gokulashtami, teppotsavam ( float festival) and Sankranthi.

How to reach Sri VenugopalaSwamy Temple Karvetinagaram from Tirupati?

1) Direct buses are available from Tirupati but with less frequency.

2)Sri VenugopalaSwamy Temple Karvetinagaram is located at 13 km from Puttur. From Tirupati, there is quite a number of buses to Puttur.
