The temple allows marriages during its opening hours. Halls are located outside the temple. A receipt will be issued after the marriage, which can be used for the marriage registration either online or offline.

Mangadu Temple Marriage Procedure

1. The bride and the bride’s family should necessarily be Hindus.
2. The Bride must be 18 years and above
3. The groom and the groom’s family should necessarily be Hindus.
4. The Groom should be 21 years and above
5. Only Hindu arranged marriages are allowed at this temple.
6. The temple permits inter-caste Hindu arranged marriages.
7. A marriage Application has to be collected from the temple office by the Bride’s and Groom’s families
8. Any of the listed persons can collect the form, i.e., the bride, the groom, the bride’s parents, or the groom’s parents.
9. The only payment required at the time of application submission is the marriage registration fee.
10. Interreligious marriages are not allowed in the temple.
11. Love marriages without parents’ acceptance are not allowed.
12. Decoration and catering services can be performed outside the temple.
13. A minimum of 1 to 2 months of advance booking is advisable.

Required ID proofs for same-caste arranged marriage

1. The Bride and Groom’s Aadhar Cards photocopies
2. Bride’s parents’ and groom’s parents’ Aadhar card photocopies.
3. Bride and Groom’s Community Certificate and Transfer Certificate photocopies
4. A signed application form by the Thasildhar/MRO or online unmarried certificates from the bride and groom are required.

Mangadu Temple Inter-caste Marriage Procedure

1. The Bride and Groom’s Aadhar Cards photocopies
2. Bride’s parents’ and groom’s parents’ Aadhar card photocopies.
3. Bride and Groom’s Community Certificate and Transfer Certificate photocopies
4. A signed application form by the Thasildhar/MRO or online unmarried certificates from the bride and groom are required.
5. A separate NOC from the local police stations is required from the bride and groom.
6. A notary document confirming the parents’ acceptance of the marriage is required.

Marriage Registration Certificate Procedure

1. Temple will be issuing the marriage certificate, which can be used for the marriage registration

Mangadu Temple Annadanam

Free and quality food will be served at the temple for the devotees on a daily basis. The above-mentioned timings and count might change. Online booking is not available for this free Annadanam tickets. This temple falls between Kundrathur and Poonamalle road.

Golden Chariot will be pulled by the devotees around the temple. During this time, the processional deities will be seated in the Chariot. Golden Chariot will be performed on all days (not during special festival dates). It is believed that the devotees will be blessed with wealth and health. Mangadu Kamakshi Temple History

As per the Legend, Goddess Parvati mistakenly closed Lord Siva’s eyes, as a result, the entire universe fell into darkness. Goddess Parvati pleaded Lord Siva for her ignorance. As instructed by Lord Siva, Goddes Parvati performed strict penance at Mangadu (Mango trees or forest). She held Japamala and stood on her left leg and folding right leg in the mid of “Panchagni” and performed Strict for Lord Siva. Impressed Lord Siva appeared before the Godded and asked her to come to Kanchipuram for marriage. Goddess moved without turning off the holy fire.  Sri Adi Sankaracharya installed Sri Ardhameru Chakram to reduce the heat in this region. The heat came down and restored the natural living in this region. Unmarried girls offer prayers to the goddess to find a better match
