<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This is the place where the Barbareek head was recovered. It is believed that taking a holy dip in this Tirth will bless devotees with good fortune.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Flowers from this garden is used for Shyam Baba Puja. This garden is at a walkable distance from the temple.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Gourishankar Temple</h3>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">As per the folklore, The Moghul emperor, Aurangzeb tried to demolish the temple and Shiv Linga. The soldiers ran with fear of seeing Blood oozing out of the Linga. Marks are still visible on the Linga even today.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Jeen Mata and Harsh Nath Temples are located in Sikar Districts.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Main festival dates: 26 Feb 2018 ie. Shuk.a Paksha Falgun Ekadasi and 27 Feb 2018, Shukla Paksha Falgun Dwadasi.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Usually, the festival is celebrated 5 days before Holi. But it is extended to 10 days on seeing the huge response. Majority of the devotees used to celebrate Holi at Shyam Baba Mandir.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Nishan Yatra starts from Ringas to Khatu during this time. The devotee will be carrying the holy cloth tied to the Bamboo stick holding it in one hand.&nbsp;Sish appeared on Ekadasi day hence Falgun Mela is celebrated.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Temple remains open for 24 hours from Dasami to Dwadasi days. The devotees can have Darshan anytime on these special days. Thousands of devotees walk from Ringas to Mandir to celebrated Baba Shyam Ji festival.&nbsp; Majority of devotees&nbsp;stay in Khatu from beginning to the end of the festival.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Advance booking required for the accommodation, as lakhs of Bhakts participate in this Grand Mela.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Khatu Shyam baba History</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Legend dates back to the Mahabharata times, Barbareek, grandson of Bhim (Pandava brother) used to worship Lord Krishna from his childhood. Barbareek was blessed with 3 arrows which can destroy enemies in one shot. Barbareek chose to fight on the Losing side. As Krishna knows that Kauravas going to lose the battle, so Krishna decided to stop him from entering the battlefield. Lord Krishna stopped him while on the way to the Battlefield. Krishna disguised himself as a Brahmin and asked for Barbareek&#8217;s head. Lord Krishna Revealed his actual form to the Barbareek and got Barbareek&#8217;s head. He praised Barbareek for the sacrifice and placed the head on top of the hill to watch the battle. Lord Krishna offered boon, that Barbareek will be worshipped in Kaliyug on his name. After winning the battle, Krishna and Pandavas performed buried the head in Khatu.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In Kaliyug, A cowherd was grazing cattle in the forest. The cowherd noticed the strange behaviour with one of the cows. The cow&nbsp;dropping milk on its own on the Earth. The cowherd recovered the head and handed over to a Brahmin. Shyam Ji appeared in the dreams of the King and revealed his whereabouts. The King built the temple for the head and is worshipped in the name of Shyam Ji Baba.</p>
